| Darwinia is Released! |
For those of you who didn't know already, Darwinia was released last Friday!
I must apologise for leaving this update so long - on Friday I was at the Darwinia Release Party with the Introversion guys and a load of the Beta Testers (it was a blast, by the way), and I've been trying to get some uni work done since I got back, so this kind of slipped my mind.
Anyway, what this means is that you can now walk into any major game shop in the UK and pick up a copy of Darwinia right off the shelf! You can also order it from a million and one places online too, so if you don't have a copy already, why not?!
The observant amoungst you will have noticed another panel on the side menu on the site. Thats right, now that Darwinia is released, TheNextGame will now be hosting Darwinia mods! Theres only one up right now, and unfortunately, its only a preview of what I'm working on, since I didn't have time to finish it as I was planning this weekend due to the afforementioned uni work, but I'll get more done on it next week.
So, if you have any mods that you want me to put on the site, email them to me and I'll be happy to put them up!
Just a couple of notes:
1. To use mods, you need to have completed Darwinia first. If you haven't finished the game and ask why the mod isn't working, I'll probably ignore you.
2. If you have finished the game, you will need to create a folder called 'mods' in your Darwinia directory. All mods that you download will need to go in there unless it says otherwise.
3. If you send in a mod, make sure you include a readme file. Make sure it's clear which part of the file is the description that you want go to on the site, and feel free to include a screenshot too. If you don't put an email in the readme, I'll use the address you sent the mod to me with, unless you tell me you don't want your email address on the site.
This will probably be the only update to the site this week, bar uploading any mods I receieve, but once this work is out the way, I'll give the site the attention it deserves. Thats all for now!
